4 Essentials for Your New Restaurant

Are you opening your own restaurant? Congratulations! Once the contracts have been signed, it's time to get to work. Here are just four essential supplies that should be in every restaurant on opening day.

1. Rolling Carts

You'll need to roll a lot of things around your kitchen, including plates, pans, ingredients, cooking supplies and finished dishes. Invest in rolling carts so the labor won't come out of your back.

2. Kitchen Mats

Commercial kitchen mats will protect the floor from shocks and spills. They'll also make cleaning a breeze at the end of the day, something you'll really appreciate once your restaurant gets off the ground.

3. Refrigerators

You can't just buy a single refrigerator and be done with it. You'll need them in all shapes and sizes to meet the demands of your business, so it's a good idea to buy them in bulk from the same manufacturer. You'll get discounted prices that way.

4. Cutlery

This may sound like a no-brainer, but you'd be surprised by how many forks and spoons go missing in the average day. Always stock more cutlery than you really need; the time will come when you'll be glad you did.

These are just four must-haves for a growing restaurant. There are plenty of other supplies that should be on your shortlist as well; these are just the absolute basics. Sit down and figure out your entire inventory if you want to avoid unpleasant surprises down the road.
