Meditation is a free way to relax.

A great way to reduce stress, pain, anger and anxiety for free is to turn inward and meditate. There are many ways to meditate and many thoughts on how to do it. But most experts agree that, no matter what your reason or method, spending 10 to 20 minutes twice a day or everyday relaxing your mind may help you lead a healthier and happier life.

Try this technique:

* Choose a word, sound, prayer or phrase on which to focus.

* Sit in a quiet, comfortable place.

* Close your eyes and begin to breathe slowly and deeply while relaxing your muscles.

*Repeat your focus word, prayer, sound or phrase silently to yourself as you exhale.

*As your mind starts drifting, acknowledge it, and return to your repetition.
