Hot Soup on Rainy Days

Yes, during rainy seasons, hot soup on the table is what I want to warm our stomach. Any soups will do for me, as long as I have something to sip when eating our meal either lunch or dinner. My boys love this nutty miso soup, but I seldom cook this. Now I wanted to cook this again for tonight’s dinner, but the lazy hands strike again. I will try to ask my father if he likes to cook nutty miso soup tonight. I wish he is not lazy to work in the kitchen even for just tonight.

Multicab - Double cab

If things go right, I could have this type of vehicle in early next year. This is not so expensive vehicle because these are made here in Davao City, but the engine and parts are surplus and came from Japan. When I arrived here in this city, these small vehicles caught my eyes. I didn't see it in Manila, and I asked my father what type of vehicle is this, and he said, a multicab. And sooner, as I have said, if everything goes right, this will be parked for good in our garage.

Free at Last

One of the most important “breakthroughs” in women’s health is our generation’s radically different take on menopause. “The women’s health movement has brought menopause out of the closet. Women don’t fear it anymore. They understand that it’s natural part of our maturing and that it marks the beginning of the test of our lives.

In our mother’s day, women may have whispered about “the change” behind closed doors, but now we form menopause support groups and actively seek information on menopause and hormone-replacement therapy. We play a far more active role in the midlife health care than our mothers did. There’s a well-educated group of women who visit their doctors with a checklist of things they want information about, particularly HRT or Hormone-replacement Therapy.

Got this poll on Yahoo. One poll of 750 women between the ages of 45 and 60 found that 52 percent viewed menopause as a new and fulfilling stage of life, 60 percent did not feel that menopause made them less attractive, and 80 percent said that they were actually relieved that their period had stopped.

More Music Store at SM Mall

I didn’t know that there is a new music store at SM Mall, Ecoland branch. I remember there was only one music store at this mall. I am glad that they added more music stores; at least, there are choices when you need or want to buy any musical instrument or musical accessories. Last year, my son bought his guitar at that mall, and since there was only one store inside, he had no choice but to buy the guitar he needs. I have heard that my son needs a speed knob set for his guitar. I wish he can easily find it at the music store inside the mall.

Meditation is a free way to relax.

A great way to reduce stress, pain, anger and anxiety for free is to turn inward and meditate. There are many ways to meditate and many thoughts on how to do it. But most experts agree that, no matter what your reason or method, spending 10 to 20 minutes twice a day or everyday relaxing your mind may help you lead a healthier and happier life.

Try this technique:

* Choose a word, sound, prayer or phrase on which to focus.

* Sit in a quiet, comfortable place.

* Close your eyes and begin to breathe slowly and deeply while relaxing your muscles.

*Repeat your focus word, prayer, sound or phrase silently to yourself as you exhale.

*As your mind starts drifting, acknowledge it, and return to your repetition.

I did it today and it really works, promise.

You Don’t Know How to Cook or You Don’t Have Time to Cook

Are you too busy to cook?

Are you scared of cooking?

Do you think, “Can I really cook myself a good meal late in the evening when I’m tired from work or a day running around with the children?”

Do you read cooking magazines and watch cooking shows on TV and think, “If I can’t cook that way, I don’t even want to try?”

A lot of people don’t know how to cook. Or if you do, they can’t find the time. Maybe they never had the opportunity to see home cooking in action or simply weren’t interested in learning at that time. Whether you have a full-time job or course load or are a busy parent, carving out time to shop and cook can be a challenge.

Cooking for yourself or your family doesn’t have to feel like an overwhelming project. Even without much cooking experience, you can turn out quick, simple and delicious meals that are satisfying to your body and soul.

Cooking doesn’t have to be hard. I’ve never taken a cooking lesson in my life, but I was able to learn how to cook by reading cookbooks (and making lots of mistakes). Once you try out a few simple recipes, you’ll gain some confidence in your cooking skills and a sense o empowerment over your food life. When you cook, you have control over the food you put on your plate and in your body. Cooking, like most things, tales a little preparations, patience and practice. But once you start to confront your fears, you will be amazed at what you can do.
