Wild Orchids or Waling-Waling

These are the beautiful flowers that I took when we were at the Agri-Trade and Flowers Exhibit at the back of SM Mall here in our place. Lovely, isn't it?

When you buy this kind of plants in full bloom, the prices will surely make your eyes as big as the plate. So, if you want to have them in your garden, just buy the new cultivated orchid for it is less expensive. The only problem when you buy a new cultivated orchid is that, sometimes it is not the flowers that you like when it blooms.

It happened to me actually. Last year, I bought the new cultivated orchid. The seller told me that it had a tiger skin designed on the petals. I was so excited when it started to show a flower. However, when it was in full bloom, it wasn't tiger skin petals. It has fuchsia red petals. Well, it wasn't bad anyway for it has a brilliant deep purplish pink color, and the petals are also thick just like oh the photos below.

Therefore, if you want to buy the new cultivated orchid or waling-waling, don't assume that it is the right flower you like.

My Henna Tattoo

I had my first henna tattoo on the day that Janjan and I watched the Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan here in our place. We're supposed to watch the whole event on that day, but I couldn't endure the heat of the sun, plus Janjan wouldn't stop bugging me to have a henna tattoo. So, I opted to have the henna tattoo than watching the Indak-Indak. The henna tattoo is just 50.00 pesos (approx. $1.20) only. Not bad right? The tattoo man told me that it would last for two weeks only. Well, that's okay. I am not dreaming to have a permanent body paint. I am scared with needles you know.

Busy Weekend

Since we have a long weekend this weekend, the neighbors were so busy with their lives. I could hear them cleaning their yards, trimming the grasses, cutting the small branches of the trees, and more. I could also hear the voices of the kids. They were yelling, laughing, and one of those kids is my son and niece. I let them play with the other kids outside because they don’t have school assignment, and besides, they don’t have school on Monday.

And early this evening, I have heard again our singing neighbor. Probably, he would stops singing at midnight. I know there are neighbors in our place got annoyed with this old man when he is singing because he never stopped singing even if it is already midnight.

There was a time that somebody threw a stone on the roof of the house, but unfortunately, the stone landed to the other house. The next day, there was a big fight between the owner of the house that was hit by the stone and the singing old man. Now, the singing old man learned his mistakes. He still sings but not until dawn where everybody is sleeping.

Chickie, The Mascot

I met this chicken mascot at SM supermarket few days ago. Fortunately, I had my digital camera with me. I remember when my kids were little, they were so scared with mascots, and even Santa Claus who is really a man wearing the Santa outfit. I don't know why they were so scared. Well, that was when they were little. If only Janjan was with me when I met this chicken mascot, he would definitely stand beside the mascot and take some photos.

Slow Internet Connection

I don't remember what I have done this week why I haven't updated this blog. :) The only thing that I could possibly think is, the lazy bug attack again, plus my internet connection was acting like crazy. Yeah, right. We had a bad weather, and the internet connection runs so slow. Every time I opened a site or my site; it will just be turning and turning and turning. It seems like it will turn forever. I have several blogs, and some of them has a task that needs to be done, so I had to go to the internet cafe just to do the task. Anyway, I am glad that at least it works now. I could start making updates at my other blogs. I wish it will not die once more, otherwise; I won't be able to finish updating my blogs again.

Favorite Photo

Hello world, how was your weekend at your end? I hope it was okay and not bad just like mine. I am trying myself to relax; I set my mind on a positive mood; but it was hard. However, talking with my friends on Facebook helps me a lot. Anyhow, I have found a new meme a few days ago here in the blogosphere, and I was interested to join. So, today is my first time to join this fun and exciting meme. If you want to join, just click the badge below my photo, and follow the instruction.

The photo below was taken last year here in our place, and I love this photo because it was taken by my son who is only 10 years old at the time he took me this photo. He was just practicing his little skills on the camera, and he perfectly did it. He said, he tried to get a good shot on the mountain in the distance and not me, so I laughed when I heard it. But when we downloaded the photo from the camera to the computer, I found it so beautiful because of the background. Luckily, I save it from my computer, and I also save it to my Photobucket account.

Flowers For All Occasions

Receiving a gift from your family, friends, co-workers or love ones, is a wonderful feeling that is if you really like the gifts you received. They say, it’s better to give than to receive, so when you receive something you don’t like, and the gift is recyclable, then why not give it to the one who needs or like it.

Anyway, I have something to share with you. On the 15th of this month, my father will be celebrating his 74th birthday while my aunt’s and her husband will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. My brother’s wife in Toronto is expecting her baby to see the world in October. I am now trying to save my money for I wanted to surprise them a simple gift from quebec florist. I was there a while ago and so in love with their flower arrangement. Tanya, my sister-in-law loves any yellow and pink flowers, and I am glad that they have lots of beautiful yellow and pink flowers. Aside from flowers, they also have plants, bouquets, gourmet, or a combination of flowers and fruits in a basket. For my father, I don’t know yet what gift do I want to give for him, but for my aunt’s wedding anniversary, I could send them bouquet or flowers and fruits. I am glad that the site accepts Paypal payment, and there are no hidden payments for they already include the delivery fee to the price.

Kids Games

Do you play this game in your childhood days? Or have you tried to play this game when you were young? Well, I have never tried to play this game when I was a kid for this is boy's game, and it was my two brothers who like to play this game. I remember my brothers were praying that they could get old rubber wheels from our uncle's motorcycle, so they could use it and play with it. Now this game has already forgotten. If you compare the games before and the game today, I could tell that the parents before never spent too much money just for a toy.

Today, even the less fortunate family, the parents would buy toys for their kids. It might not be an expensive one, but at least their kids have their own toys to play. My kids have playstation, remote control cars, cellphones, and more. These toys are not cheap. I wish I could pawn it when my wallet is empty, ha ha.

Anyway, the photo below was taken when the church we attended celebrated a family day. It was the organizer who got an idea to have games for kids. A game that their parents played when they were young. Anyhow, I could tell that the boys loved this game. You could see on their faces that they enjoyed the game. By the way, don't ask me the name of this game for I really don't know. Maybe you could name this as "wheel race".? ha ha

Flooded in Manila due to continues heavy rains.

I was so busy cleaning our room this morning. I had no idea that the news on TV in all channels was all about the flood in Manila. My mother had told me to open my TV, so I could watch the news. I was totally shocked when I turned on the TV. It was a child on top of the roof and was rescued by the rescuers using a long rope to cross from roof to roof. I was terrified if they fall on the strong water running under them. There was no typhoon or storm but the rain poured so heavy since last night, and it caused a flood all over Manila.

I have contacted our relatives, family friends, and friends in Manila if they were okay. My uncle and cousin's house were all right, but they don't have electricity. My godchildren's place has a flood everywhere until to the ground floor of their house. Take note, their house is higher from the ground and then the water was already inside the house. I was living there for a decade, so I could imagine how deep the water is outside the house.

Anyway, while I am typing here now, lightning, thunders are striking, followed by heavy rains. I wish it won't rain so long. But who could stop the rain? The only thing we could do is to be alert all the time, especially for those who are living near the river banks.

Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday everyone. I woke up late this morning, and if not with my son; I would definitely like to stay on bed for more. I washed the dirty clothes yesterday including our blankets, towel, and bed sheets. The only thing that I was wishing for is the sun to shine today, and I am glad that the sun is back after hiding a couple of days because of the bad weather. At lunch, I cooked vegetable again, and while having our lunch, we watched our local noon-time show. Now the kids are out of the house, probably; they are playing outside, and I let them play since today is Sunday. So I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your family and friends.

Beautiful Sunset in Boracay

I have never been there yet, but I am wishing that I could go to that place one day. I found this photo from my husband's file photos. He was in Boracay last year, but sad to say, he never invited me at that time. To be honest, I wasn't happy when I saw his photos in Boracay. He went there with the other woman and not me. She's a Swedish woman too, and they supposed to have business here in the Philippines, but the plans didn't materialize.

Anyway, I am glad that today is Friday, but at the same time, I am sad because the laundry basket is full of dirty clothes. I thought I could rest this week, but I can't.

Outdoor Equipment

On Monday, my son’s school celebrated the Nutrition Day. When it is nutrition day, the pupils or kids require eating only vegetable and fruits on that day. However, they need to prepare the foods in the school. The higher grader will cook their foods, and if they are adventurous, they must cook food that they never tasted it before, but the ingredients must be vegetables or fruits only. Since my son is in the higher grader now, his group cooked a variety of vegetables. It was one of his classmates who brought the portable gas stove, and I also brought some kitchen utensils like pot, plate, bottled water and more.

While I was looking for the portable gas stove, I thought of buying this for it easy to carry and very useful when you have an outdoor party. I know where to buy these outdoor equipments, the boxboy sells on these things. I already have checked the prices, and they offer the best price of every product. Take a look at the site so you would understand what I was talking about. Anyway, they are now offering good deals on selected items, so hurry, while stocks are still available.
