The Signmaker

Have some lettering skills? Commission neon signs, billboards, streamers, banners, custom stickers, and plastic signs for extra income. What will you need to start this business? Of course, you need some talent or acquired skill in drawing and lettering. You will also need a small capital and a good public relation to get by. Our neighbor started with just a compass, coloring materials, and a used soft drink poster. Now his business, just outside his house, is becoming more popular. He is known for the good quality service, and of the product he gave to his customers. Well, if you are dedicated with your work, you will absolutely achieve whatever goals you have on your business.

Google Page Rank Updates

When I checked my PR to all of my blogs this evening, I was really surprised with the updates that I have. Anyway, here are the updates that Mr. Google gave me.

                                                            Old PR        New PR
Mom’s Place                                           PR 3           PR 2
iTravel                                                     PR 3           PR 4
Mom’s Wish Lists                                   PR 2           PR 2
Lifestyle & Homemaking                  PR 0           PR 3

The New Blogs: Wordpress

A Woman’s Note (2 ½ mo. Old)             PR 0         PR 0
Kat-in-the-kitchen (21/2 mo.old)             PR 0         PR 1
World Latest Updates (newly update)      PR 0         PR 0
Homelifestyle (newly update)                   PR 0         PR 1
General Essential (newly update)             PR 0          PR 0

I really couldn’t believe these updates. I was not expecting that my Mom’s Place will get higher PR because I was busy updating the three new blogs, and I almost neglected my main blog. My iTravel blog on the other hand, I was hoping that the PR will go down because I want to buy a domain for it, but I couldn’t do it because it has a PR of 3, and I will definitely lost it if I will change it to own domain. To my surprised, Mr. Google raises the PR into 4. Ha ha. The Mom’s Wish Lists has no change, but the Lifestyle & Homemaking has a good rank. From PR 0 to PR 3. Whoa! Anyway, I want to thank Mr. Google for these updates. I am satisfied with the result of the updates.

Walgreens, recommended by pharmacist.

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

It has been a week now since I suffered bad cough and colds. The cough bothered me so much at night. I couldn't sleep well that’s why I was weak a couple of days ago. I am glad that as of today, my fever has gone. Last Monday, I thought I was okay, so I went to shower, but later of the day, I was chilling again. I have been taking a medicine for cough and colds that I bought over the counter, but after taking a couple of days, I guess it didn't work to me because there was no change. Fortunately, my aunt has one bottle left of Walgreens Nighttime D Cold & Flu Relief, and she wants me to try it. She told me that this liquid cherry flavor of Walgreens Nighttime D Cold & Flu is guaranteed effective.

On the first night that I took the medicine, I was able to sleep longer without bothering the cough that I had the previous nights. I was glad that it really works for me. When I checked the product online, Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products are a great value compared to other branded names medicinal products. Why paying more if you could get a health or medicinal product that has less value and effectively guaranteed.

Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products are a great value, allowing families and individuals to save money without sacrificing quality or trust. Hugs Graphic Comments

Hi everyone. I am not yet well, but definitely not too bad anymore. I don’t have a fever for a couple of days, and I am happy for it, but I still have a cough. The only thing that I need now is to rest because my body is still weak, probably due to my cough that disturbs me most of the time when I am in bed. I also got a headache if I will stay longer here in the computer. I wish in a few days, I will be completely okay. I am tired of lying on the bed most of the time. I am tired of doing nothing. Yesterday, when I opened my mail, I had an opps to write, and it was the last day of the opps. So, even if my mind cannot think of anything to write, I tried my best to finish it on that day. Anyway, I will visit you guys, when I am ready to blog and thank you for all the sweet messages that I have received from my blogs.

My Niece

Jaja is now Kindergarten 1. I was so happy when she visited me last week wearing her cute blue uniform. I love this adorable little lady because she is so sweet to me. Actually, a few weeks from now is her birthday. She will be turning 5. Anyway, I can't stay long here. I am still sick, but not too bad now.

Pink Friday

It's Friday now, and I am still sick. I got a flu a couple of days ago, plus I have this very annoying hard cough. It usually disturbed me when I was sleeping. Sorry guys if I can't visit you back right now, but I promise to visit you, as soon as I am okay. I can't stay longer here on the computer. Anyway, this is my Pink Friday entry.

Total Lunar Eclipse

Last night, my mother told me that there will be a lunar eclipse that night, but it could be seen between 3:00 to 5:00 at dawn here. We look at the calendar, and it was a full moon, so there will be a total lunar eclipse that night. Even if I am sick, I set the alarm clock at 3:00 o’clock in the morning for I wanted to see a total eclipse. When the clock alarmed, I got up from the bed, got the sweater on because it was so cold for me, and I went out from the house. Unfortunately, I couldn't see the moon because the thick clouds covered the moon. So, I went back to bed and sleep. Anyway, I searched on Wikipedia about this lunar eclipse, and here’s what I have read from them.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes behind the earth so that the earth blocks the sun's rays from striking the moon. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned exactly, or very closely so, with the Earth in the middle. Hence, a lunar eclipse can only occur the night of a full moon. The type and length of an eclipse depend upon the Moon's location relative to its orbital nodes. The most recent total lunar eclipse occurred on June 15, 2011; it was a central eclipse, visible over Europe and south America after sunset, over Africa and most of Asia, and Australia before sunrise. The previous total lunar eclipse occurred on December 21, 2010, at 08:17 UTC.[1]

Unlike a solar eclipse, which can only be viewed from a certain relatively small area of the world, a lunar eclipse may be viewed from anywhere on the night side of the Earth. A lunar eclipse lasts for a few hours, whereas a total solar eclipse lasts for only a few minutes at any given place.

We're Sick myspace graphic comments

Yes guys, Janjan and I are sick. We are barking like a dog. Janjan got high temperature last night, and I am glad that when he woke up this morning, the temperature went down. Even if he is sick, he still wants to go to school, but I told him to stay and just wait until the fever and cough are gone. I need to go out later also because I need to buy a medicine for me and for Janjan. I have a headache, body aches, a very hard cough, and I feel like all my bones are weak. I couldn’t walk straight, and I couldn’t taste the food I ate. I wish this cough will leave me before Saturday because there will be a blogger’s meeting here in our place. It is a half-day seminar to all bloggers, and I am interested to join. Anyway, I am going out now, and I promise to visit you back tonight guys.

The Peacock Lady

Here's another photo of a lady mannequin. I guess, she's a peacock lady. What do you think? I have posted from my other blog some of these photos which I took a couple of weeks ago. This was taken at the mall, and I had no idea what they were campaigning for.

3-Day Sale

Its Saturday today and there will be three-day sales at SM Mall, which was started yesterday as part of the Philippine Independence Day celebration on June 12, 2011. The mall sale includes spa’s outlet, hair salon outlet, sports store, restaurants and a lot more. I was there last week, and I have received two hair salon business cards and at the back of these business cards are discounts that I am going to avail on every service that I want to have. How cool is that? Actually, I got three business cards, but I gave one card to my cousin. I want to go there today but the weather is not good again. We have rains for a couple of days now. I wish it won’t rain so hard because I still have back pains from yesterday’s rain. The rain water went inside the house, and I was mopping the floor from the living room to the kitchen. I guess this house needs a renovation that could stop the rain water to get inside the house.

Pink Friday

These were taken last week when we shopped at the NCCC Mall here in our place. There was a mannequin show at the mall's lobby. I had no idea why they had humans acting like a mannequin with their unique design costumes and weird make-ups. The models look like an alien to me lol. However, the costumes were designed pertaining to our nature. I don't know if it is a campaign for global warming awareness. lol I guess, there were 10 of them, nine ladies and only one male. The male looks like from the other planet lol.

I don't get it. What's the theme of this woman? She's wearing newspaper dress, headdress, and newspaper shoes, but she had her colored contact lens.

Anyway, whatever their purpose for wearing those weird costumes, one thing I admired was that, they could stand for a couple of hours without moving. That was a hard job ever. And for today's meme, these are my entries for Pink Friday. I wish you have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Building Additional Rooms

I couldn’t understand why my son’s school has started constructing another building only now where there are lots of pupils walking around. The construction materials were blocking on the way like steel bars, sand and gravel, and woods. I know this is good for the school for it really needs to add more rooms because the number of students keeps on growing. In addition, the school builds steel framed buildings and not made of wood. However, the noise of the construction disturbs the classes. I was at the school earlier to pick-up my son and to attend the school mass as well, but the noise of the construction disturbs the mass. Anyway, I am glad that today is Friday, which means I don’t need to wake up early tomorrow for there is no school. I can blog hop late tonight. Have a great weekend everyone.

Durian, our favorite fruit.

In a few months from now, we will enjoy this fruit again because it’s durian season. Janjan couldn’t wait to eat durian again. Anyway, you can still see and buy durian at the fruit stand today but the price is higher when it is not the season. The first time Janjan saw this fruit, he was amazed of the size, and then when we opened the fruit, Janjan ran outside the house because he doesn’t like the smell. He said it smells like a poop. Lol. I gave him a little meat, so he could taste it, but he refused and covered his mouth and nose. Jason jokingly told me not to teach Janjan on how to eat this fruit because he knows that when Janjan tastes it, he will definitely love it. It took for a couple of years before Janjan tried to taste this fruit. And today, Janjan is the first one to grab the meat as soon as you open the durian. He really loves it. He could eat a whole big durian. Anyhow, I am linking this also to Thursday Brownies. I found this meme at Chuchie Hideaway.

Storage Company

Yesterday, I had unexpected visitors. My ex-BIL and ex-SIL’s came over late in the afternoon. I was surprised to see them, especially my ex-BIL because he is from Manila. I have learned that the couple decided to move here in Davao for good because their children have their own families now. My ex-BIL and his wife arrived on Monday, and until now all their household stuffs were left at the cargo shipping company because they don’t have yet a house here. The couples are temporarily living to one of the sisters here. However, my BIL has a problem because the cargo storage company charged them per day, so he really needs to pull out all their things at the cargo storage. That was the reason why they came over. They asked if there is a vacant house, or apartment that fits to their budget, and they could move right away here in our place. So, today, I was busy looking for an apartment or house. If only there’s a storage cardiff here, I would rather like to pull-out first the cargo and store it there temporary. I guess it is a lot cheaper than storing your things in a cargo shipping company.

Automated Paying Machine

This is the automated paying machine that I used when paying our telephone bills. The company has changed their way of accepting payment not long ago. We used to pay over the counter, but it has been changed, and they want us to pay our bills on the automated paying machine. The only problem in this machine is, when you are paying an overdue account, there is a tendency that you will be disconnected because the company staff will open this machine two times a week. So, to avoid disconnection, call the hotline office after paying the bills. The operator will ask your receipt number, telephone number and the name of the subscriber.

Wedding Reception

Here in Davao, hotels and inns are good business. Emar’s Hotel is one of the best hotels in our place. One of the greatest attractions of the hotel is their wave pool. The pool opens as early as 6:00 in the morning and will be closed at 2:00 in the morning. If you are looking for a place to relax, unwind, you don’t need to travel very far. Emar has everything, but if your wallet is loaded, and you want to experience something new and exciting, then maybe you should look for something like holiday cottages lake district. Anyway, I am still searching for a nice venue for my cousin’s upcoming wedding, and Emar is on my list, but my cousin prefers a beach wedding, but for my aunt, the mother of the bride-to-be, just wants a simple reception in their house.

At the Beach

How was your weekend everyone, mine was just a very busy weekend for I have to prepare all the school things of my son and nephew. For two consecutive days, I was at the National Bookstore just to buy school stuffs. Anyway, since today is Monday, I wish you a wonderful week ahead, and here is my entry for today’s meme.

This is one of the beaches here in our place. I went there a few days ago but not to go on swimming. I just asked if they have a promotion for a big event like wedding, birthday, baptismal or debut. I also checked the facilities that they have like the restaurant, bars, and the place for the special event. Anyway, I haven’t talk yet the manager, so I have no idea how they will cater like a hundred person. By the way, it was my aunt who asked me to check this resort because her daughter will come home from Dubai and will be getting married next month, so I am helping my aunt to look for a place for her daughter’s wedding venue. The verdict to this place, it's 50-50, because the place is nice actually, and the great advantage is, this is near to our house, but I don’t know yet the food and how they set up a beach-wedding.

First Day at School

I woke up very early this morning because today is the first day school opening. My son and niece were still sleepy when I told them to get up from the bed. I know why they were still sleepy because yesterday was their cousin’s birthday, and they had fun until in the evening. Anyway, even if they were tired, they didn't complain when I told them that they will be late at school if they don’t move. I sent them to the school for they don’t know yet their respective rooms. I was glad that my niece who is in Grade 1 didn't grumble when I told her that I will go home, and I will just come back to pick her up after her class. My niece will go home earlier than my son, so I would be back to fetch her up. Now, since the kids are at school, and I am alone here in our home, my next task is to clean my mother’s blinds. I supposed to clean this yesterday, but I was also at the birthday party. Anyway, after cleaning the blinds, I would definitely continue my online tasks.

1. Hey! Mommies, are your kids ready for school on Monday?

5. First thing to note: is to wake up early on Monday.

6. Turn off the television when studying because it is one that creates distraction.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to update blogs, tomorrow my plans include shopping for school supplies for my son and nephew and Sunday, I want to chillax, I wish!

Build Smart, Breathe Easier

According to the reliable report, there are 11 people in the United States die from asthma every day. Asthma is chronic lung diseases that inflame and narrow the airways. Asthma affects people of all ages, but usually it starts during childhood. I have read that young boys are more likely to develop asthma than young girls. However, do you know that Carpenter Carter Oosterhouse from HGTV Personality, Habitat for Humanity and the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America join Merck to Launch Build Smart, Breathe Easier? Merck objective is to educate the families on how to manage the disease and to help people with asthma by highlighting the importance of maintaining an “asthma-healthy home”.

HGTV Personality and Carpenter Carter Oosterhouse, Habitat for Humanity and the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America join Merck to Launch Build Smart, Breathe Easier

Almost all asthma sufferers have allergies. Common sources of indoor allergens include dust mites, cockroaches, pet dander, mold, strong fumes or odors and fungi. It is possible that the push towards energy-efficient homes have increased exposure to these causes of asthma. That is why Merck launched Build Smart, Breath Easier campaign. Merck has joined with Habitat for Humanity, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) and HGTV personality and carpenter Carter Oosterhouse to build four houses with asthma-healthy features in partnership with low-income families affected by the disease in Metro Atlanta (North Central Georgia), Detroit, Greater Los Angeles and Philadelphia.

Carter Oosterhouse said, “A house built with materials that are easy to clean and less likely to contain irritants, such as hard-surface floors or non-toxic paint, may have a positive impact on a family, especially one dealing with asthma,”. Carter Oosterhouse and the Habitat for Humanity are both excited for being part of this program for it would certainly help the families with asthmas to build sustainable homes with asthma-friendly features in partnership with low-income families.
