Are you a last minute shopper?

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pier 1 Imports. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am so tired today. I was at the mall again, and I guess I am one of those last minute shoppers. I was in a hurry for four days henceforth and its Christmas. Have you done your shopping?  Actually, I shopped for stylish Christmas décor, plates, glasses, and it was really hard for me to decide which one is good because I was alone when I shopped. After Christmas, we are going to have a beach party with my relatives from my mother’s side. And since we are hosting this party, I need more items to be used at the beach like dining set, or tabletop kitchenware. We will have an exchange gift, so I was also looking for  holiday gifts as well.

Since I couldn't find any nice gifts at the mall, I went online, and I came across a site where you can get anything you want for the holiday and for any season.  I so love their stylish tabletop kitchen wares, lovely pillows, and a lot more. I told myself that I must have this stylish dinner set or the beautiful bar accessories. I could tell that Pier 1 is a perfect place for you to shop especially this holiday. All items that I have found are so beautiful and presentable. The prices are handsome. It won’t hurt your wallet or credit card. Anyway, since it is the time for sharing, during the months of November and December, you can support Toys for Tots by dropping off an unwrapped toy and/or making a cash donation at the register. I encourage you also to continue to spread holiday cheer by liking Pier 1 Imports on Facebook. For every new fan they get, they will donate $1 to Toys for Tots.

Blue Monday - The Plane and the mall.

Guess who took the plane's picture. Actually, we were sitting in our little yard when this plane passed in our sky. When Janjan saw the big plane coming, he ran quickly inside the house to get my digital camera. He made many shots but this one is the best shot I guess. The second picture was taken by me when I was at the back of a pick-up truck and very timely because the red traffic light was on, so we stopped, and I got a chance to take photos of this mall.

Christmas and Birthday Party

Yesterday was my godchildren’s birthday. Since they are twins, the proud parents and grandparents prepared a wonderful birthday party for the twins. The biggest attraction of the event was the two big pork lechon and the two cakes of two layers each with a miniature of babies on top of it. The adults were all eyed to the lechon while the kids can’t wait to get a slice of the cake. Lol. The kids had so much fun on playing different parlor games. We, the spectators, just watched them while the kids were playing, but we also cheered for our child/ren haha. There was a stage mom, and she was funny indeed. She helped her child to win one of the games, and she was the one who had the biggest mouth too, as if she was holding a microphone when she yelled. Lol.

The venue was just at the residence of the celebrants, so when the kids were finished playing and eating, the adults started to sit in front of the karaoke machine. Most of them wanted to sit in front so they could grab the microphone easily. When they started to sing, ironically, there was also a Christmas party near to the house. They also had a karaoke machine, so when they were singing together, my poor ears wanted to explode. The worst part was, our house is on the center of the parties. To our right side was the Christmas party, and then on the left side was the birthday party. Could you imagine the noise that we had last night? The Christmas party finished at dawn while the birthday party stopped singing at midnight I guess.

Family Camping

I have never been to Hoseasons caravan camping sites near to my cousin’s place. I have learned from my cousin that the place is really perfect for family camping. The place is loaded on weekends, so if you want a peaceful night, don’t go on weekends or holidays. Well, I guess, this season is not good for us to camp because we still have lots of rain. It would be probably nice to camp on summer time here. Oh! By the way, I have no equipment and gear for camping so I guess I need to buy it first. So I guess that’s all for now friends, and have a great weekend everyone.

Social Spark V1 Payment Received

If not with Shydub, I wouldn’t know that Social Spark V1 had come to an end a couple of weeks/days ago. I was glad when Shydub posted that SS V1 has been releasing funds to all members, even if your earnings didn't reach the payout amount which is $50.00.

I have $49.50 and $12.81 left from my two blogs, so I hurriedly went to SS v1 and withdraw the money. Thanks to Carri because yesterday she sent my money to my Paypal account. Horray!. She is so quick to respond to my request. So for those who are not aware of this, visit the old Social Spark, log-in to your account and just follow the instructions on how to withdraw your money. I know this money can't buy a house and lot, not even a used car, lol but I am happy for it because it will surely help for my expenses this season.

Anyhow, here are the proofs of payment.

Apartment Business is better than bake Shop Business.

My aunt’s new build apartments are almost done. She has three doors apartments already, and she builds another three doors apartment just in front of the other three. This is her new line of business aside from her bake shop. She got this idea when her friend who is currently leaving in Edinburgh told her that the apartment business is better than her bake shop. Her friend demonstrates one of the edinburgh apartments to give her an idea on what kind of an apartment that people may be interested to stay or live. Well, definitely my aunt was convinced because she will be going to have six doors apartment. I wish one day, I will also have an apartment business like my aunt’s business.

My son's Christmas Party

zwani.com myspace graphic comments

I am so tired today. I woke up early just to prepare food for Janjan's Christmas party at school. He volunteered to his teacher that he will bring spaghetti and cookies for the party. So, yesterday, I headed to the grocery store and bought all the ingredients for spaghetti, and I just bought a ready to eat cookies at Goldilocks. The children party was great. They had lots of fun. The teacher was generous to his pupils. She prepared gifts for every game the children played, and she also had personal gifts to every pupils. When we got home, Janjan excitedly opened his gift from his teacher. He received a face towel with animated character design and a baby powder. And now, I need to go to bed early for I am not really feeling well because of my WV according to Rose Ha ha. Well, I promise to visit you guys tomorrow.

Blue Monday - Doll House

Hello everyone, how was your weekend, I bet you were busier than me. It's time to share our blue photos again, so here are the photos that I took inside the mall. This doll's height is taller than my four year old niece. My niece is less than 4 feet and this doll is exactly 4 feet tall. This doll has her own house too, enough for the kids to play inside as well. Look at my son, he's trying to open the doll house door, but he was shy because there were girls playing inside. Anyway, I had a good chat with Pretty Rose @ Nostalgic Marveling this morning. It was actually our first chat on YM, and I am sure, it will not be the last. ha ha. Now I know what's the other meaning of WV (US State)..Ha ha Visit Rose and ask her the new meaning of WV. He he.

Clams on Weekends

On weekends, my brother loves to go to the sea. He usually left here in our home early in the morning and will come back when the sun is high. Sometimes he forgot to go home and stay there in the water until in the afternoon. He enjoyed digging those clams in the sand. He taught me how to dig those clams and where to look for it. At first I have no patient to look for it but when I got a few of them, I started to like it, and later it was fun for me. The only thing that I don’t like is that, if the sun is so high and burning, and you soak your body to the sea water. When you get out of the water, you will be like cooked crabs or shrimp, or you will be like overcooked bread ha ha. So, it is very seldom I go with my brother just to get shells or clams in the beach. Anyway, these are the clams that my brother brought us today. He boiled it, and he put some spices. Yummy! You can boil, fry, or steam clams. You can even eat clams raw. Small hard-shell clams called littlenecks and cherrystone clams usually get eaten raw. You only eat the body of the clam, not its shell. You can cook clams to make soup. Clam soup is called clam chowder.

The hard-shell clams.

Nostalgic Mrveling - Fireworks Display

I have been here in Davao for almost five years now, and it has been five years also that I have not seen fireworks on Christmas and New Years eve. Here in Davao, fireworks, firecrackers or anything that can create loud noise and fires are prohibited. It was the city mayor who prohibits these things. When we had our first Christmas and New Year here, I felt it was not Christmas or New Year because the sky was dark, no firecrackers or fireworks, and the only thing you can hear was our neighbors who were singing and yelling on their karaoke. When we were in Manila, I enjoyed watching fireworks display. The feeling was great when I saw the different colors and shapes of the sparkling fire in the sky. I wish the mayor will change her mind, and will allow the people to have fireworks display here in Davao. I truly miss these sparkling lights in the sky.

Food Catering Services

My previous post was about the coming birthday celebration of my cousin’s son. My cousin is so excited because it is his first child’s birthday party. He is on a night swift at work right now, and he doesn’t have enough time to prepare everything. His mother suggested catering services just like self catering holidays UK. However, the wife or the mother of the child wants to arrange the party at the fast food chain like Jollibee, McDonald, or KFC. There was a lot of discussion about the party, but later, it was my aunt who won the discussion Ha ha. Somebody will cater for them, and it will be held in their house. Well, that’s a good idea I guess because we are just neighbors, so we don’t need to go out and take a ride.

Birthday Invitation

My son and my two nieces were so happy this morning when they received a birthday invitation card from their cousin too. Their little cousin will turn one year old this coming Friday, December 10, 2010. I know why they were happy, it is not because of the food they are going to eat, but it’s the games that they are going to play when ever there is a birthday party. At first, Janjan was worried because the celebration is on Friday, and he is still at the school, but when I told him that the party will start at 4:00 in the afternoon, he was then happy. Well, we will see on Friday what games they are going to play.

We Love Boating, Do you?

Everyone in the family love boating. For us, this is the most exciting game that we played. Sometimes, we had a boat race. I started loving it when I was a kid. My late grandfather was a fisherman, and when ever we got a chance to visit them, we would never miss riding his boat. He had two boats for fishing. One was big and the other one was small. We usually ride on the small boat. Now, boating can be rented in every resort here in our place. You can use it for fishing or just roaming around the island. My son was asking a few days ago if we can rent a boat this coming Christmas vacation. I told him yes we can do boating again for I know we could find boating holidays good deals this season. How about you, do you like boating?

ABC Wednesday - Umbrella

U...is for Umbrella

Image from here.
We are now on the last quarter of the year, but we still have lots of rain. Almost everyday we have rains, so every time I went out the house, I always bring my umbrella with me. Actually, most Filipinos, especially females who are afraid to get tanned, they have umbrellas in their bags. It helps their skin to protect from sunlight. So, if you are here in the Philippines, don't be surprised if you see females holding an umbrella while the sun is burning.

Anyhow, this is my entry for today and many thanks again to Denise Nesbitt and her team for continuously hosting this educational and interesting meme every Wednesday.

Cottage Holiday Deal

I was busy on the phone today. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have phone pal. My brother and his family in Canada will visit us this holiday. I was looking for a nice and safe resort for them to stay for a couple of days, and I was glad that every resort I called offered a good deal like giving a cottage holiday deal. Since, most of them offered the same deal, and the places or the resorts are not really far from where I live, so I planned to visit them one by one. I just want to make certain that the place is really good, clean, and safe. This would be my nephew’s first visit here in our place that is why I am looking for a great place for them to enjoy.

A Gift, a Prize, whatever!

While I was standing on the side of the road waiting for a taxi last week, there was a man approaching me and asked me if I am Katherine. I supposed not to answer him, even if he was wearing a well-known courier company shirt or uniform, but when our neighbor yelled at me that they are looking for our house. I asked the man why he was looking for us, or for me. Do I have a package or what? But when he handed me the small parcel, a pen and paper to sign, I was surprised because I was not expecting any packages anywhere in the world Ha ha. So, I signed the small paper, and I went back home. The parcel has no returned address, so I have no idea who sent the package.

When I opened it, I was surprised; it was my winning prize from a giveaway contest I joined. It was only a consolation prize but the prize is really worth. I love it. When Janjan saw this, he asked if he can put it at his back, since I always put him a small towel at the back of his shirt. So, I tried to put it, and it was really nice. He loves it too and he was asking me to buy another one, Ha ha. I told him that I didn’t buy the small towel. It was my prize for winning the contest.

Anyway, I would like to say Thank You to Kat of My “Tots” Exactly for sending this cute towel. Love it, really, ang ganda. Many thanks again sis, and I am looking forward to more giveaways to come. lol

ABC Wednesday - T is for Tuna Sandwich

T...is for Toasted bread for Tuna Sandwich

Tuna sandwich, anyone?

Actually, toasted bread is not my favorite. I ate this sometimes but I never craved for this. All of them love toasted bread except me Ha ha. Toasted bread is nice for this Tuna sandwich but I still prefer not to toast my bread. I love Tuna sandwich, and I make my own Tuna.
