Nostalgic Thursday - My Wrist Watches

How do you treasure the fruit of your labor? Last Sunday, I was at my cousin’s place because it was their patron’s fiesta and every year they celebrated for it. A few days before the fiesta, I was told already not to forget on that day but when the day comes, I was sitting here in front of my computer and doing blogging. I had no plan to go there for I knew she would ask again the things that she wants from me. But when it was almost 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon already, she sent a message to my cell phone asking me where I was. I didn’t reply her message, and I just ignored it. A few minutes later, she called, and I didn’t answer it. Since it was snack's time for me, I went outside to buy a bananaque and I just left my cell phone here in my room. While I was outside, the phone rang again and my mother answered it. Grrrrrr. It was my cousin again. So, when I came back, mother told me to go there when she learned that it was a fiesta and she asked me to bring food when I come bac…

ABC Wednesday - for Ketchup

Hi Everyone! It’s time for our ABC Wednesday meme again. Thanks to Denise Nesbitt and her team. We are now on letter K….are you ready?

K……….is for Ketchup

My youngest son is a ketchup lover. He can’t eat without a ketchup on the table especially for fried chicken, fries, burger, fried fish etc..etc. He always asks for it whenever he’s on the table. Anyhow, I found this photo on, and I also found on how to make ketchup. So I thought, it would be nice if I will share it with you on how to make homemade ketchup.

Homemade Ketchup

Yields: 1/4 cup (4 servings)
Allergy info: soy-free, dairy-free, gluten-free

3 tablespoons tomato paste
1 tablespoon turbinado sugar
2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
1/8 teaspoon crushed garlic (about 1/2 small clove)
Water to thin
Salt to taste

In a small bowl, combine the tomato paste, sugar, balsamic vinegar and garlic. Add water, 1/4 teaspoon at a time, until the ketchup is the desired consistency. Adjust seasoning, adding sal…

Playing Games with my kids

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of PlayStation(R) Move. All opinions are 100% mine.

A few days ago, I was dreaming if somebody will give my son a new PlayStation®Move. He has already a PlayStation 3 but my son doesn't stop asking me to buy this new PlayStation.  His godfather, who is my first degree cousin, will arrive from the states this week, and I wish my cousin will buy a PlayStation(R)MOVE for my son. My son is his favorite nephew, so every time he arrives from the states, he will bring my son to the mall and buy anything that my son wants. He is like a genie or Sta. Claus for Janjan. I would also like to have this new PlayStation because of its outstanding features of the motion controller that can be used and move to any directions. Plus, you can bring motion gaming exclusively to your existing PlayStation®3 with the MOVE bundle package for $99 only.

These days many young people are hooked on network gaming at the internet café so, I would definitely lik…

Need Extra Money?

You can be an events coordinator if you enjoy organizing parties, creating themes, and coming up with fresh ideas. Your job is basically to do the worrying for your host. Depending on your arrangement with your customer, you may handle the planning and preparations or take care of everything for him or her. Events coordinators are becoming more and more indispensable as hosts and hostesses realize they can let other people handle their party so they can enjoy it along with their guests.

Ask your friends and relatives for their contacts and recommendations. To succeed as an events coordinator, you must be highly organized, with a good office location, the office must be presentable with good office Furniture and you must be always on top of things.

2. As a kid, were you ever wrongly accused (and punished, if it went that far) for something you didn't do? If so, what was it? What happened?

Nostalia Thursday

I had mentioned already here that we were in Manila two weeks ago. On the 3rd day that we were there, I went to Philippine Stock Exchange Center in Ortigas alone (minus Janjan) for I have an important thing to do on that place. I was glad that when I was there, the person whom I was looking for was there, and we ended up our conversation with a great smile. After my transaction with her, I headed to SM Megamall, a few meters where I was. Since, it was lunch time already; I was so excited to visit the small food outlet at the supermarket section. I was surprised that the food store that I used to eat when I was working on that place was still existed. The costs of their foods are just enough for the ordinary employees of the mall. Probably, this could be the reason why the store lasted for a decade now.

I ate, and I went inside at the supermarket, department store, shoe store, my favorite Manels, Cinderella boutique, SPIRIT, to name a few. I also went up on the 5th floor because I …

Nostalgia - My Old Place

Last week I was in Manila. The day after our interviewed, I went to our old place in San Miguel, Malacanang. My kumare was not in their house when I visited her. The house helper told me that they went to Cavite. We had a little chit-chat with the helper but since my time was so limited, I left and I headed to my son’s school at National Teacher’s College or NTC to get his school year book and I also went to San Miguel Church to get Janjan’s baptismal certificate. After getting all those stuff, I went to Quiapo Church. There were no changes on the church and on the plaza. The statue that I was told you on one of my Nostalgia entries about an earthquake in 1990 was still there.

My heart was yearning when I saw people that they were almost inside the church and selling all those religious things. I wish they will give a little respect to the church and to the people who were praying inside the church. They were noisy, yelling all those religious stuffs, using those vulgar languages whe…

Printing Press Business

My aunt is a banker five days a week, but after office hours and on weekends, she helps run their printing services that she and her husband had put up in 1996. Their company is a small printing establishment that concentrates on commercial printing and design services and recently they added custom printing business cards. There are many printing presses in the metropolis, but printing requirements just keep on going, and that makes it a good opportunity to them.

I could remember that my aunt started with one used printing machine and if orders were bulked, they asked for a subcontractor to do the job. The couples are now in their late 50’s but no one of their children wants to follow their business once they retired. My cousins are not interested in their business. I sometimes made a joke to my aunt that if my cousins don’t like to continue the business when they retire, then I will volunteer myself, but I need first their guidance, since I have no idea about running a printing …

I know God Knows Best

I had an interview a few days ago and I am not sure if I pass or not but the result will take a couple of months. All I can do for now is to wait and pray for a positive result. So, here is my prayer and I hope you will include me on your prayer too.

Lord, stay close by when showers fall Upon the plans we make; Help us to always understand It's You who gives and takes. For Your ways are not our ways And our thoughts are not Yours; Our plans are sometimes foolish, But Yours are always sure.
Lord, lift us up when showers fall On plans we thought profound; Help us to somehow realize Our plans aren't always sound To finite minds, we must confess, They seem to meet the test, But help us, Lord, to understand It's You who knows what's best.

A Trusted Dating Site

When I was in Manila a few days ago, I went to an internet café just to open my mail. The café was full of costumers; most of them were young ladies. I saw them chatting, talking on a video cam and some were just playing on Facebook. There were two young women sitting beside me, and they kept on laughing without a sound. They covered their mouth with hands while laughing. It seems that they had fun chatting on a foreign face in front of their web cam. Since they were just beside me, I had a chance to talk with them. I asked what site they were using because it sounds like they found a great site for chatting. The young woman told me that it was a calgary dating site, and she has been using this site for a couple of weeks ago for she wants to meet new friends and maybe more in the future. Well, I will try to tell my friend about this site. Perhaps she might be interested with this for she likes meeting new friends on the net.

Filipino time, Swiss time, American time, what’s the difference?

For those who didn’t know, Janjan and I went to Manila last Monday morning and we got back here in Davao last Thursday night. I had an interview for getting a “Live and Work Visa” for Sweden. The interview was great but the result was not great lol. I need to wait for a couple of months to get the result. The Manila Consulate will send my application to Bangkok Consulate then the later will send my application to Sweden. Actually, there is no Consulate General of Sweden in Manila. The Swiss Consulate agreed to entertain applicants in behalf of Sweden but they are not allowed to decide or release any visas for Sweden. They will only accept applicants, interview them and then send those applications in Bangkok Consulate General of Sweden. But if you are in a hurry, you can directly apply any visas for Sweden in Bangkok.

Anyway, before the interview, I need to pay my application at the Bangkok Bank at Ayala Ave., Makati City, but the place for interview was far from the bank, I need to …

Blue Monday - Swing

It’s time to post for our Blue Monday meme hosted by Smiling Sally. Here’s my entry for this week, a white swing. I so love to put this in our yard but until now there’s no available stock at the furniture store that I visited few weeks ago. They have swing but I don’t like the style, so I will just wait until this design is available. Oh! Wait, can you spot the blue?

Nostaligia Thursday - Photograph

Last week I was not able to post my entry. I had no time to write any article for my blogs because it was my son’s periodical test. Everyday we reviewed his lessons. Aside from his school periodical test, I also had bad internet connections. I went to internet café just to post an article. Anyhow here’s my short entry for this week.

This Mom’s Place blog was created in December 2008. A few months later, I gained lots of friends and one of them designed my blog’s template for no cost at all. She also designed my badges, and when ever I got trouble with my blogs, she’s the one who always there for me. Last Christmas, she sent me a gift, so sweet, as sweet as those chocolates she sent. She also included her family picture and this family picture of her is the most important and memorable to me. I will bring this picture, wherever I go. Janjan loves the picture too because of Buddy and Akesha lol. He said Buddy is handsome and Akesha is pretty. Wow! I have no idea what’s in his mind wh…
